Description

This park which was home in 1896 to the 1000 yr festivities celebrating the conquest of the basin of the Carpathians by the Magyars, which in 15C was just a marsh. In 18C the Empress Marie-Thér?se decided to make it useful by drying the marshes and planting some new species of trees there; then later on a landscape gardener of French origin, Henrik Nebbie, was entrusted with designing the plans for converting this place into a large leisure and recreational park, this is what it is today.
