This literary museum which bears the name of the famous poet Sándor Petőfi (statue on the staircase), occupies the former palace of the counts of Károlyi. The name of the street, Mihály Károlyi, is that of the first President of the Republic (1919). The building, in the classical style, attributed to András Mayerhoffer, has been refrurbished. If you are keen on literature, this museum is right for you! It presents the life and works of Sándor Petőfi and other less well known Hungarian authors.
