Hold Street

Name: Hold Street
Category: Architecture, castles and historic districts
Location: 1093 Budapest, Hold utca

Description

This is where you will find one of the works by Ödön Lechner who appears in almost all the works dealing with the Secession style in Budapest: the building of the former Post Office Savings Bank. Certainly it was all built with lots of fantasy, it is stunning, some even say too ornate. In any case, one not to be missed! You should also see: the covered market, both for its metal architecture and its stalls; and further North, the eternal flame!
