Applied Arts Museum

Name: Applied Arts Museum
Category: Museums and art
Location: 1091 Budapest, Üllő út 33-37.

Description

Inaugurated in 1896, this building is another one that is inescapable. The architect Ödön Lechner with this work wanted to illustrate the Secession style, a Hungarian branch of Art nouveau in which the oriental inspiration is evident. Stand back a little to appreciate this form of art which mainly appears on the roofs and the façades with a profusion of coloured ornaments made of ceramics with floral and animal designs. The inside, which is more sombre, is equally stunning. Have a good trip.
